Let’s get back to the basics! The basics of eating, the basics of thinking and the basics of living.
Holistic Nutritionists are trained professionals who provide services within a holistic context in order to achieve optimal health. Taking on a holistic perspective, means to take into account the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of one’s life. By understanding an individual’s history, present and future goals, nutritionists are able to provide empathic guidance towards making the right choices in diet and lifestyle to ultimately live optimally. Discovering the empowerment within oneself is eye-opening and something nutritionists can assist with through education, whether to relieve symptoms of a specific condition or as preventative measures.
By taking into account all aspects of life, from nutrition, to supplements, sleep, exercise and spirituality, Nutritionists can identify areas of improvement and recommend natural ways to optimize health.
Holistic Nutritionists can help with issues such as constipation, gas, bloating, migraines, PMS, sleep and energy levels. By focusing on food and lifestyle recommendations to address the root cause, Holistic Nutritionists can help relieve symptoms.
Other:
- Emphasize body-mind-spirit connection; all 3 are inter-connected
- This is what “holistic” refers to in my title as RHN: Holistic meaning “whole,” or all aspects of life
- I.e. If someone presents with liver imbalance, the psycho-spiritual connection is identified and managed
- RHNs also discuss environmental toxins and reducing toxic load
- Identify possible sources of toxins, e.g. household cleaners, skincare products
- RHNs also provide general wellness tips such as hygiene
- Washing hands before and after food prep
- Removing shoes at front door of house
- Essential oils to relieve symptoms
- Topical usage of oils, e.g. castor oil for constipation
